Did you know that most people seeking asylum are banned from working?

Talented, experienced and skilled people trapped in unemployment by a senseless ban.

The work ban causes huge harm to women seeking safety, placing them at risk of further harm, abuse or exploitation.

One rainy morning in early Spring, the Lift the Ban coalition (a coalition of over 300 charities, trade unions, businesses, faith groups and think tanks campaigning to overturn the Government’s ban on people seeking asylum being able to work) visited Parliament with a loud and clear message: people seeking asylum are ready to work.

Six of our Campaigns Champions – refugee women in our network who have graduated from our Campaigns course – attended the stunt, sharing their experiences and hopes.
