Our Strategy2025 - 2028

Women for Refugee Women's plan to support refugee women in the UK, and to campaign for a fairer asylum system.

Our Strategy for 2025-2028 sets out Women for Refugee Women’s plan to work alongside women who have sought asylum in the UK. We support refugee women in the UK as they rebuild their lives on their own terms, and to influence the public and policymakers to bring about the change that is needed to create a compassionate and fairer British asylum system.

In the news

Change

by campaigning to end immigration detention in the UK

To support women who have sought asylum to influence public perceptions of refugees, and to challenge and change the UK’s asylum system so that it is fair and supportive.

Our campaigns

Through our 2025-2028 strategy, which will unfold under a new Government elected in July 2024, we aim to build on our achievements and learning in order to address the challenges facing women who are seeking asylum in the UK.

We will:

  • Strengthen campaigning efforts to secure positive reforms to the British asylum system’s policies which perpetuate violence and abuse.
  • Support refugee and asylum-seeking women to develop their skills and confidence to meaningfully campaign for a fairer asylum system and shape our advocacy.
  • Welcome new members to our network through targeted outreach to more diverse communities of refugee women in the UK that are seeking safety.
  • Evolve our grassroots programmes to meet the needs of our network members.
  • Focus on consolidation to ensure long-term stability, efficiency and sustainability of the organisation.

And most importantly:

  • Ensure that women with lived experience of fleeing persecution and seeking asylum in the UK remain at the heart of all that we do.

We thank all of our supporters, friends and partners for standing in solidarity with asylum-seeking and refugee women. We look forward to working with you over the lifetime of our new strategy to create the changes in society that women seeking asylum would like to see.
