Our choir of asylum-seeking and refugee women, Voices of Hope, is proud to release their debut original song, Love is Everything.

Written, performed, and produced by our talented network members, the song is rooted in their lived experiences, as well as their dreams and hopes for the future. Through this powerful piece, the group celebrates love, hope, and resilience.

As part of Women for Refugee Women’s creative and educational activities for women seeking safety in the UK, members of Voices of Hope meet weekly to write, sing, and perform together. What begins as a creative space quickly grows into a community – one where women support each other, find joy, and build confidence. At its core, Voices of Hope is about sisterhood and togetherness.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Fatima Lahham, our expert volunteer, musician, and researcher, for guiding the choir throughout the creative process; Ben Spence at FuzzBrain Studios for recording the single; and Soofiya for the beautiful artwork.

Love is Everything also comes at a time when hope is needed more than ever. As part of the collective campaign A Million Acts of Hope, Voices of Hope, alongside many organisations, groups, and individuals across the UK, are celebrating everyday acts of kindness, compassion, and care – and standing firm against hate.

Love is Everything is now available on streaming platforms, including YouTube and SoundCloud.

Jane, a member of Voices of Hope, says:

“The Choir brings us together as one, despite our different backgrounds and the struggles we face. Through singing this song, we have found unity and comfort in each other. It has given me a sense of belonging, it reminds me that I am not alone and has helped me to heal emotionally because music allows me to express feelings that are hard to put into words. Even in difficult times, the Choir reminds me that I can be joyful and strong.

The song means unity – standing together no matter where we come from; strength – supporting each other through pain and struggles; hope – believing that tomorrow will be better; and kindness – lifting each other up.”

Hope, a member of Voices of Hope, says:

“Music is inspiring, it heals my mental health, it mends my broken heart. We all gather together and our spirits are lifted. I have been strengthened by our Choir. Where words fail, music heals.”

Lilah Hyman, Grassroots Programmes Coordinator, at Women for Refugee Women says:

“Watching Voices of Hope come together to create this song has been incredibly moving. Under the expert guidance of Fatima, the group have grown in confidence week-on-week and their debut song embodies everything the choir represents: healing, creativity, courage and sisterhood. Not only is it a brilliant achievement, but a vital reminder of the importance of creative spaces for women seeking safety to heal, grow, and be heard. We’re so proud to share their powerful song and hope it uplifts, inspires and sparks joy!”
