Our creative, educational and wellbeing activities for refugee and asylum-seeking women are designed to build skills and confidence, create sisterhood and solidarity, and be a place to heal, laugh, and connect.

Our activites run during school term times and offer a broad range to cater for different interests, skills, and experiences.

Last year, September 2025 – July 2026, we delivered:

483 activities to refugee women in our warm and welcoming community space

Women joined us for:

Drama, English classes, Radical Knitting, Dance and Movement, Spokesperson Network, Yoga, Campaigns for Change, Digital Skills, and much more!

Bella shared:

“Coming to Women for Refugee Women makes me feel welcome and loved. The activities keep me busy and happy. They make me look forward to each day.”

We supported over:

170 women with high quality legal advice, so they can understand their rights and receive the support they need.

Miya shared:

“Without the support of Women for Refugee Women who gave me advice throughout thre whole process, I don’t know how I would have managed.

Then one day, I received the phone call from WRW, my application had been successful! My son is here with me now.”

We provided over:

200 tablets and several specialist workshops to increase digital skills, literacy and confidence.

Virginiah shared:

“Now I can write and send emails, use the internet, create documents and so much more.

These skills have made a big difference to my life. For example, I recently submitted an online application by myself – I was so happy!”

We made over:

220 specialist referrals so women were connected with the support, services, and opportunties they need

including food banks, mental health, housing, education, healthcare, and employment.

Rainbow Sisters, our solidarity group for LGBTQ+ women seeking safety, grew to over:

300 members, and this year was our biggest Pride celebration ever!

Fatima shared:

“It was like a dream for us and we had SO MUCH FUN!! It really touched our hearts how a lot of people support and accept the LGBTQIA+ community. We will remember this day forever!”

We held our three annual parties to come together to share a hot meal, dance, sing, perform, and celebrate together. This year, over:

290 women joined us to party!

This is just a little snippet of what was a brilliant year. We are so proud of our network members who took part in our activities with joy, resilience and curiosity.

With huge thanks to all of our supporters and volunteers who make this work possible. We couldn’t do it withotu you!

Here’s to another year of friendship, sisterhood, and solidarity!
