Our 2025 summer party
Our annual summer party is a chance for us to celebrate the end of term together.
Last week, we welcomed over 100 women to our summer party and it was a wonderful afternoon of fun, laughter and dancing.
During the party we:
Watched members of Drama perform a new original piece exploring three different imagined lives of Mona Lisa. In each life, Mona Lisa used her power to help herself and others and to overcome the challenges she faced. We loved the creativity of the piece and enjoyed seeing both new and experienced drama members perform together.
Shared a delicious hot meal together. For each of our parties, refugee women in our network choose a new cuisine. This time it was Eritrean/Ethiopian and we all left feeling full and satisfied!
Enjoyed learning traditional dance moves from around the world. Several members of our network led the party in learning dance moves from their home countries – a joyful and fun way to bring everyone together to explore each other’s cultures.
Sparked some friendly competition in our quiz on UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The winning team scored an impressive 22/25!
And celebrated all of the brilliant achievements in our activities this year.
Our impact
- We now support over 675 refugee and asylum-seeking women
- From our 44 different countries around the world
- Rainbow Sisters – our solidarity group for LGBTQ+ women seeking safety – has grown to an impressive 196 members
- Over 730 sessions of our creative and educational activities took place this year
- Facilitated by our wonderful team of 38 volunteers, including six refugee women from our network
It has been an amazing term! We are so proud of all that has been achieved in our activities – from exploring new vocabulary and writing original poetry to leading campaigns for change.
