This year has been full of uncertainty and worry for many of us. For the refugee and asylum-seeking women in our network it has been especially difficult.
At this time of year when the weather is cold and nights are dark, and with the returning lockdown measures, many services remain closed and more women in our network need support to see them through winter.
Every year we hold a Christmas party for over 100 refugee women. Our party is a chance for women to come together to chat with friends, share food, dance and sing, and to go home with a small Christmas gift donated by our supporters. This year because of Covid-19 restrictions, we are unable to celebrate together to share moments of warmth and joy, something we have all been missing since we closed our face-to-face services in March.
As we reach the end of a challenging year, we want to ensure every woman in our network receives a gift of a £20 shopping voucher, so that we can make her Christmas a little brighter and warmer.
Please help us spread some joy this festive season.
“You are putting a smile on people’s faces… I feel happy, I feel loved.” Marie
Any funds raised beyond the amount needed to provide every woman in our network with a Christmas gift will be used to support women to stay connected, access education and receive therapeutic mental health support this winter and into 2021.
