We’re looking for new volunteers to support our grassroots activities at Women for Refugee Women (WRW)!

At WRW we strive to create a safe space where women can build friendships, share solidarity, and develop their skills and confidence. We couldn’t achieve any of this without our dedicated and brilliant volunteers.

We’re looking for two new Digital Skills volunteers who can start from 30th September 2024. Could this be you?

Who we are looking for:

  • Two women;
  • Who are confident in using laptops, the internet and other digital applications;
  • Who are available every Wednesday during school term times, between the hours of 12:30 – 14:00;
  • Who can commit to a minimum of six months.

We are particularly interested to hear from people of colour and/or with experience of the asylum system.

What will the volunteers do?

  • Deliver in-person sessions at our activities space near Old Street, London;
  • Design and deliver – with support from our Digital Inclusion and Outreach Coordinator, Hajar – weekly digital sessions;
  • Support refugee and asylum-seeking women to develop their skills and confidence in using a laptop and accessing online opportunities;
  • Help set up and pack down the meeting space;
  • Chat to members.

What Women for Refugee Women provide:

  • Full induction;
  • Supervision;
  • Reflection meetings;
  • Socials and events with other volunteers and staff;
  • Training (e.g. safeguarding);
  • Travel expenses.
