We’re looking for new volunteers to support our grassroots activities at Women for Refugee Women (WRW)!
At WRW we strive to create a safe space where women can build friendships, share solidarity, and develop their skills and confidence. We couldn’t achieve any of this without our dedicated and brilliant volunteers.
We’re looking for a new Dance and Movement volunteer who can start as soon as possible. Could this be you?
Who we are looking for:
- A woman who is passionate about dance;
- To support another volunteer to set up and deliver weekly dance and movement sessions;
- Who is available every Tuesday during school term times 16:00 – 17:00;
- Who can commit to a minimum of six months.
We are particularly interested to hear from people of colour and/or with experience of the asylum system.
Experience of dance, movement or facilitation is desirable.
What will the volunteers do?
- Deliver in-person sessions at our activities space near Old Street, London, alongside another volunteer;
- Support refugee and asylum-seeking women to practice dance in a fun, relaxed environment;
- Help set up and pack down the meeting space;
- Chat to members.
What Women for Refugee Women provide:
- Full induction;
- Supervision;
- Reflection meetings;
- Socials and events with other volunteers and staff;
- Training (e.g. safeguarding);
- Travel expenses.
