Every woman deserves a chance to rebuild her life in safety.Detention causes extreme harm to already vulnerable women. It is unnecessary, harmful and expensive. I oppose this new detention centre.#NoToHassockfield and yes to kindness and compassion.
@ukhomeoffice and @pritipatel we do not want a new immigration detention centre for women.
Women seeking refuge from persecution should not be locked up.
We want a kinder and more compassionate response to women seeking safety in our communities.

Agnes needed protection, but was detained for months before being granted refugee status.“I know how detention destroys a woman. Women become depressed and suicidal in detention.”I’m joining Agnes to say #NoToHassockfield by signing her petition: https://bit.ly/2UeahP

This government is planning to open a new detention centre for women in autumn.
Detention harms women by locking them up when they need protection.
I believe every woman deserves a chance to rebuild her life in safety. That’s why I’m saying #NoToHassockfield
We need kindness and compassion, not a new detention centre.
